“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” ~ Mark 1:35 KJV …….
Prayer was of high priority in Jesus’ life. He made it a point to pray. This scripture lets us know that He rose up a great while before day to fit it into His life. He set the example that we should follow. It doesn’t necessarily mean we have to get up very early in the morning to pray, but it does mean that we should make prayer a part of our daily life if it means rising up early to do so.
We miss a lot in life when we don’t have an established prayer life. A lot of things that the Lord wants to do in our life probably won’t happen if we don’t pray. An established prayer life will keep us in good shape spiritually. An established prayer life makes power available. It helps transfer the load of life over on the Lord. Someone once said that reading God’s Word is like eating and prayer is like breathing. If you don’t eat you’ll stop breathing, but if you stop breathing you’ll stop eating. Be like Jesus and make it a point to pray daily.
