I think most of us have things in our past that we’d just as soon forget. The good thing is that with God that’s totally possible. You see, He actually tells us not to remember the former things. It’s not that we’re supposed to forget everything in the past, but that we need to let go of the things that would keep us from going forward.
A lot of things happen to us in life that if we let them they’ll keep us in bondage. I meet people who are constantly referring to their past. They seem to be stuck there. Something negative happened to them and they can’t seem to let it go and move on. I’m not sure they even realize they’re stuck. They are letting their past define their future.
Here’s the good news…. if you’ll let go of the past, God will do miracles in your future. He said, “I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert!” No matter how painful the past may be, that’s exactly what it is, it’s the past, it’s not your future unless you allow it to be.
