Ever since the 1970’s I’ve heard people talk about when the Lord is coming. Even today many make predictions on His coming. I even heard one minister say, “I wouldn’t buy any green bananas if I were you.” While he was being funny the truth is, Jesus could come at any moment.
The early disciples expected Him at any time. You see, after His resurrection He had appeared to them, then disappeared, then reappeared on different occasions. Finally in Acts chapter one we see Him taken up in a cloud to Heaven and the angels saying that this same Jesus which was taken up would return in like manner. So naturally, they expected that He would return any day.
Whenever I hear preachers say He’s coming back this year, I pay no attention to them. Whenever I hear preachers say that there’s no way He’s coming back within the next few years, I pay no attention to them. What I do know is He’s coming back!
The scriptures plainly tell us that we don’t know the hour, but we can know the seasons. We’re in the season of His coming right now. So you and I can live every day with expectancy, knowing that this could be the Day of His Return!
