“O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endures forever.” ~ Psalm 136:1
Let me challenge you to read the entirety of Psalm 136 and highlight every verse that says, “His mercy endures forever.” What you’ll find out is that you’d have to highlight all 26 verses of Psalm 136 because every verse says it. I think the psalmist is trying to tell us something. I think he’s trying to tell us that the LORD’S mercy “endures forever”. Forever is a very long time!
Listen to some of the things the Word says about God’s mercy. He’s rich in mercy. He’s plenteous in mercy. He’s of great mercy. His mercies are in the heavens. He’s the Father of mercy. He delights in mercy. He loves mercy. His mercy is new every morning. He doesn’t sound like a harsh, mean, angry God. He sounds like a loving, merciful, heavenly Father!
Perhaps at some point you’ve blown it in your walk with God and the devil has convinced you that things will never be the same again between you and God. Let me tell you explicitly that the devil is a liar. He doesn’t want you to know just how good your God is. Never believe him. Instead believe what the Bible says about God, “His mercy endures forever!”
