“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” ~ Mark 11:24 KJV……
Perhaps you’ve seen the sign that says, “Prayer Changes Things”. The truth is it’s not just prayer that changes things, it’s believing prayer that changes things. You can pray until the cows come home and it won’t change a thing if it’s not believing prayer.
Many people struggle with believing prayer because they focus too much on their circumstances. It takes faith to look to the Word when trouble is all around, like the children of Israel did looking at the pole with snakes all around them. Not an easy thing to do, but it got results.
God moves in an atmosphere of faith. His power functions in that environment. Just praying alone won’t do it, it has got to be believing prayer. James was Jesus’ half-brother and he said we’re to ask in faith and that we shouldn’t expect to receive anything from the Lord if we don’t. He would know how faith and prayer work having lived in the same house with Jesus. He learned about believing prayer by watching Jesus’ life.
It’s good to prepare yourself before you ask God for something. Search the scriptures to see what they promise you about your situation. Then when you do pray believe you’ve received what you ask for. Don’t go around talking and acting like nothing happened. Check yourself out… are you praying believing prayer, or are you just praying”? It makes all the difference in the world!
