“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” ~ 1 Peter 3:7……
Peter in this verse, when talking about marriage, speaks about “the grace of life”. There is a grace to live that will come on a married couple when their marriage is in line with God’s Word!
Let me share with you three important keys to having a healthy marriage:
- Seek God with all your heart. Seeking God is the number one calling of every person. Stop trying to work on each other and work on your relationship with God. When your relationship with God is right your relationships with others will be right also.
- Honor one another. The word honor means, “heavy, weighty, valuable, esteem, precious, important”. When you treat your spouse this way your marriage is about to get really good. If both go out of their way to honor the other you won’t have very many issues in your marriage.
- Watch your words to each other. You can speak life or death to your marriage. You can’t talk bad to each other and stay happily married. Your words are important!
