“And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” ~ Ephesians 6:4 NKJV ……….
Many Christian parents don’t realize that it’s their job to train their children in the things of God. Some think that it’s the job of the Church to train their children in those things. While the Church is to do its part, the Scriptures reveal that it’s the parent’s job to train their children in the things of the Lord.
Notice that this verse talks about training them. Children must be trained to worship the Lord. They must be trained to read their Bibles and pray. They must be trained to tithe. If you wait for them to figure it out and decide for themselves when they get a little older you’ll most likely end up with rebellious teens who end up leaving the Church and the ways of the Lord.
The best time to train them is when they’re very young. Train them to worship God during the church service. Train them to read the Bible and pray. Train them to tithe at church.. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it!”
